No matter the season, Tokomaru offers a wide variety of leisure activities. Mountain bike your way through 80 kilometres of traffic-free roads and private woodland trails, paddle the Whanganui River, New Zealand’s longest navigable waterway or further hone your scouting ability over an evening glassing. Whether you’re a fisherman looking to cast away the afternoon or a family here to enjoy our gentle wildlife up-close, you won’t be short of things to do.

ARCHERY

Target shooting never loses its appeal for young and old. We offer a range of activities for beginners through to more experienced archers. Advanced practice sessions and tailored outings can be arranged on request.

CAN-AMS

Our Hilltop Lodge and Luxury Cabins each have their own complementary Can-Am off-road vehicle for use during your stay. There's no better way of exploring our enormous property than on these off-road vehicles, large enough to carry up to 6 people.

CLAY SHOOTING

Clay pigeon shooting is a fun challenge for beginners and experts alike. Our staff will guide novices and offer instruction, as well as ensuring shooting occurs in a safe environment.

FARM ANIMALS

Both the young and young at heart love spending time with our livestock. Feed and pet our deer, brush our highland cows and keep a lookout for New Zealand Bush Hawk’s or the elusive native Kiwi.

HIKING

Our many and varied tracks and trails are ideal for hiking. Take in our diverse terrain of woodlands, valleys, streams, hills and clearings on foot.

HORSE RIDING

Ride our horses through private tracks and explore the valleys, hills and trees of our unspoilt countryside.

KAYAKING

Take in the scenery from a unique perspective or find an untouched fishing spot by cruising the Whanganui river and surrounding waterways on a kayak.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

In addition to our extensive private mountain biking trails, there are countless public biking trails beyond our boundaries, including access to the Whanganui River at our eastern border.
